Class and Lecture Dates

Along with designing and building my beaded broadcollar necklaces and other beaded works, I teach a variety of classes and give lectures. A brochure giving more details of the classes and lectures is available on this web site. My current schedule is:

Bette’s Bye-Bye Beading Bonanza

Where: Beautiful Yellow Springs, Ohio
When: Saturday, April 9, 10AM to 6PM and Sunday, April 10, 10AM to 6PM
Sunday is tentative, depending on interest
What: Beading Bash/Retreat
Why: Learn any technique for which I have a kit - including broadcollar techniques, vertical netting-Panamanian style or Fringe Techniques, not to mention make new friends, walk in the woods, eat good food, have a good time. BUY BUY BUY Beads and Supplies not to mention the SALE of the CENTURY on finished merchandise. This includes earrings, pins, bracelets, collars and chokers. Save me from being buried in them.

Particulars:
1) One or maybe Two day class available
2) For beginners – kits are mandatory (to avoid wasting time on color and pattern decisions)
3) Intermediate/Advanced – kits are encouraged but optional- if I have a kit, you can learn it
4) Intermediate/Advanced - non-broadcollar kit/project. I will have available a small kit with instructions for using VARAFORM mesh as an armature and my own approach to 3-D freeform peyote stitch to make a small tree branch similar to the one in Iceman Cometh. A picture of this is in the gallery section of this web site. I learned a lot about how to work with this material and found out that it is very useful for some projects. There will be opportunity and materials to experiment on your own.
4) Work on one of my previous projects- $10 to cover my costs

Cost: $35/person/day for instruction plus kit fee.

Drinks and snacks provided. Optional potluck dinner Saturday evening at my house. Optional Sunday brunch at my house, including the good/bad/ugly lecture and show & tell.
