Art Forms from the Ocean

The local gallery used to have a biannual miniature show. It was a challenge to decide on a subject on that scale. I was familiar with Ernst Haeckel’s book Art Forms in Nature and learned of its companion piece Art Forms from the Ocean. Since small 2” x 3” canvases were available locally, I could stitch my piece on fabric, and cover the canvas as well as finishing the back. It’s also a great way to use of bits and bobs of thread and beads.
