This piece started as an online class from Kathryn Drummond, but as is usual with me veered off in my own direction. The basic door shape is the same as are the steps…sort of. Then I needed context. After many photos of maple tree roots and trunks we have this. I added a partial oak tree to the left for contrast. This also allowed me to create an acorn for the handle as well as an oak leaf for the knocker. A bittersweet vine around the door seemed appropriate and I added the maple leaves blown against the steps for scale. Welcome to #17!
