Honu-Hawaiian “Sea Turtle” Quilt

Havin just read Jennifer Chiaverini’s book “The Aloha Quilt”

I decided I needed to make a whole cloth style Hawaiian quilt. I was in my sea turtle phase that seemed an appropriate motif with edges being waves. Because this was during the pandemic and stores were not open, I was forced to buy the fabric online. What a scary experience! I read a lot online about how to applique. It’s not an experience I’d like to repeat, but I jumped right in and am glad I did. It’s now happily residing with my granddaughter.
