Having taken a 2 day seminar with Margaret Vant Erve, I jumped at a chance to take another. A close friend and I had 2 days of private tutoring in painting on silk using our own photos as reference. My task was how to depict a meadow including how to approach perspective. Learning how to either paint or stitch the ground to add depth was an invaluable part of the lessons.
