Landscape of Survivors

I love pink magnolia trees, however when living in Ohio getting to enjoy them in the spring can be a problem. They set their buds in the summer, but despite a tree loaded with buds, frost avoidance is maybe 2 years out of 5…maybe. And so it was this year. The tree was loaded with buds the view from the landing was spectacular and then the serious frost! Pink buds and flowers turned brown overnight except for these 5 surviving flowers.
