Scythian Horses

I love archaeology, costuming, problem solving, and embroidery. I read this article in Archaeology magazine about the excavation of a Scythian kurgan and of the sacrificial horses buried in their fine regalia. The excavation was in 1998, the article in 2002. I couldn’t get the rendering out of my mind. I received permission from the magazine to do an adaptation. It took a year of research, then another year to create. I finally finished on 2017!
